Leaf peeping in Ontario: 3 places you must experience

We just barely wrote a blog about leaf peeping in New England so we thought it'd be a good idea to shine some golden autumn light on Canada, too – Ontario to be exact. There are a slew of stunning places to leaf peep while on locum tenens assignment in Ontario. See what locum tenens jobs are available in Canada then put these 3 leaf-peeping hotspots on your itinerary.

1) Ottawa

Most the time we include off-the-beaten-path scenic byways for you to experience. This time around we wanted to include at least one major city. Not just any, either. Ottawa – Canada's capital – is gorgeous any time of the year but during mid-September to mid-October it's an explosion of color set against backdrop of picturesque architecture – not to mention the resplendent Rideau Canal. Hurry up to experience fall in Ottawa while you still have time.

2) Algonquin Park

Again if you want to see autumn in Ontario you'll want to get here soon. End of September to early October is prime leaf peeping time for Algonquin Provincial Park. Most people explore by foot. Some explore by kayak or canoe. Either mode of transportation through this wondrous cross-section of Ontario won't let you down. You'll be positively awe-struck by the thick canopy of reds, yellows and oranges.

3) Agawa Canyon

If you're looking for a more intimate, laid-back approach to fall in Ontario then ride the rails through Agawa Canyon. You can book a train tour that runs right through the gorgeous town of Sault Ste Marie (here's how to pronounce the city in case you're wondering). You'll travel over 100 miles past blue lakes, big granite rocks, raging rivers and waterfalls, and most importantly a sea of rapidly changing leaves.
