This North Island hospital is seeking a non-invasive adult cardiologist with skills in non-invasive cardiac imaging to provide support for our echocardiogram services and clinical oversight of echocardiogram reports to meet New Zealand guidelines. Whilst not essential, experience in CT coronary angiography (CTCA) and Cardiac MRI is desirable. Expertise in clinical trials is desirable.
The service aims to develop the roles of cardiac nurse practitioner (NP), clinical nurse specialists (CNS), accompanied by an uplift in cardiac CNS capacity to enhance the nurse-led, community-based cardiac care and prevention.

Our overarching aim is to improve cardiac health for the people of New Zealand and reduce inequities of health outcomes experienced by people living in an isolated and rural community.
Day-to-day responsibilities include outpatient clinics, ward consultation, reporting investigations, providing support for clinical colleagues, cardiac physiologists, cardiac technicians, and echocardiography triaging, and protocoling imaging requests.
