See great white sharks up close on a cage diving adventure

Locum tenens looking for a heart-pounding thrill should head to Port Lincoln, Australia for an exciting, up close and personal shark cage encounter.

The journey begins on the Calypso Star, which you board early in the morning. This vessel then carries you on a comfortable two-and-a-half hour ride to Neptune Island—a famous gathering place for menacing great white sharks. Pods of dolphins will likely swim alongside your boat during the trip, and once you've reached your destination, the encounter with the toothy monsters begins.

After the crew of the Calypso Star provides you with a wetsuit  and diving equipment, they lower you beneath the surface of the water in a reinforced metal cage. They then throw a bag of chum into the sea, drawing numerous great white sharks into a feeding frenzy.

You can then watch as the dangerous giants swim just feet away—including, possibly,"Big Mumma," a famous 18-foot shark in these parts—while you remain protected by the metal of the cage. When your encounter is over, you can enjoy a bite to eat yourself from the comfort of the boat.
