Marvel at the vast Argyle Diamond Mine

They say that diamonds are forever—just like the memories that locum tenens will make when they visit the Argyle Diamond Mine, an impressive facility located in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia.

The Argyle Diamond Mine produces more diamonds by volume than any other mining operation on earth, although a smaller-than-usual proportion of its finds are of actually used in jewelry. More than 90% of all pink diamonds are mined here, as are a large number of diamonds in unusual colors like champagne, cognac and blue.

Argyle was created using open-pit mining techniques, so mine visitors can see the vast gorge dug by countless workers over the years. Currently, the pit is around one mile long, up to 2,000 feet wide and 1,900 feet deep.

After you get a chance to marvel at the vast mine itself, you can fly to Perth to see the fruits of the miners' labor. In the Western Australian capital, these beautiful gems are polished and processed by a team in experts, after which they are sold to customers from countries around the globe.
