Bring your kids to the Hawke's Bay Show's petting zoo

There are not many places in the world where people can buy a tractor, pet a sheep and watch an alpaca compete against other animals, but this is exactly what locum tenens and their families can do at the Hawke's Bay Show in New Zealand.

At this annual event, which is held in October, much of Hawke's Bay's population attends this all-ages show. The large turn out is due in part to the diverse attractions that are on display.

For example, any locum who is in the mood for some shopping will be able to visit one of several Trade Sites, where they can purchase items as tiny as teaspoons and as large as tractors. In the event that the family is in tow, doctors will want to bring their kids to the children's petting zoo. Here, the little ones can get up close to friendly farm animals, such as miniature cattle, chicks, lambs and goat kids.

Adults can get in on the animal fun as well, as alpacas, cattle and sheep take part in live stock competitions.
