Traverse the Southern Highlands in the Land Down Under

Whether you're an adventurist by foot or from the seat of a mountain bike, the villages and national parks of Australia's Southern Highlands are beautiful scenic regions to venture through in the Land Down Under. When you take a medical job in Australia, make sure to factor in a trip to this region of New South Wales because its incomparable beauty cannot be accurately described in words—you have to see it for yourself.

"The whole area has long been a cycling destination," Huw Kingston, organizer of the region's Highland Fling mountain-bike marathon, told The Sydney Morning Herald. "The facilities, in terms of marked trails, are here now and there's been a massive growth in mountain biking."

Morton National Park is a Highlands' natural treasure and is also one of the most unchanged national parks in all of New South Wales. You'll journey past native trees surrounding deep valleys, where echidnas, wallabies, and kangaroos scurry through the landscape, calling the park and surrounding areas their home.
