Visit the 'Coast' of New Zealand

The West Coast, or ‘the Coast’ as natives call it, is an untamed place of rivers and rainforests, glaciers and geological treasures. When you take a medical job in New Zealand, make sure you visit this unique landscape that is home to some of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world.

After you spend some time laying out on the sand, whether you're reading a good book or taking a peaceful rest, you can try one of the surrounding hiking trails, like the Hillary. This central path is connected to a network of regional park tracks, guiding you through Whatipu, the Waitakere Ranges, Anawhata and Piha. You can do the whole four-day, three-night excursion or pick a small portion of the nature walk to enjoy in a day.

You'll probably build up an appetite after this arduous journey, and luckily, Elevation Cafe is situated close by. While you enjoy views of the Coromandel Peninsula and Great Barrier Island, you can dine on your choice of a number of seafood dishes or even gourmet pizza, but the seafood inferno pie is the best of both worlds.
