Look for a blue iguana while in the Caribbean

Sandy beaches and a tropical climate are just two reasons to get excited about locum jobs in the Caribbean. If you're looking for a few more, then how about all the great wildlife the area has to offer?

As an animal-loving locum, you will be happy to hear the Caribbean has an assortment of colorful creatures on the land, in the sea and up in the air. If you are walking by a body of freshwater, then you might spot one or more hickatee turtles. One of the area's biggest animal attractions is the blue iguana, which can grow up to 5 feet, from nose to tail. If you see one of these reptiles lounging in the grass, there is no need for alarm, as they are vegetarians.

You will want to make sure you have your binoculars, as the Caribbean is full of bird life. From cuckoos and herons to ducks and parrots, the skies in this tropical region have it all.

If you plan on taking a swim or doing a little scuba diving, you may encounter fish, sea turtles and manta rays that are more than 20 feet wide.
