Marvel at the beauty of the St. George Village Botanical Garden

The Caribbean is one of the world's most scenic tourist destinations, and locum tenens can experience the region's stunning natural beauty on a visit to the St. George Village Botanical Garden.

This 16-acre facility is located on the site of a historic indigenous settlement dating back to the year 100 AD, and it now includes the ruins and old structures of an 18th-century sugarcane plantation. The attraction is home to more than 1,500 species of native and foreign plants, giving guests a chance to learn more about a diverse array of flora.

Each themed garden area at the botanical attraction emphasizes a different aspect of botany and horticulture. Here, travelers are able to find out more about the cultural and historical value of plants, including their use in foods, medicines, dyes and more.

The St. George Village Botanical Garden also hosts a series of events designed to educate visitors about other sides of plant life. For example, a recent gathering called "Mango Melee" featured workshops, demonstrations, tastings, shops and other activities related to the popular tropical fruit.
