Swim with the best at the King of the Bays

If you are an experienced swimmer and will be on locum assignment in New Zealand this April, then why not show the ocean who's boss at the King of the Bays event?

With a name like King of the Bays, you can tell this will be no simple swim. In fact, since the event was created in 2003, New Zealand has attracted world-class competitors to North Shore City, where the swim is held.

Even if you are not the world's best swimmer, you can still participate in the King of the Bays, as this event is open to people of all ages and abilities. For example, children between the ages of 6 and 10 can jump into shallow water and swim 200 meters in the State OceanKids event. On the other end of the spectrum is the 'I'm Going Long' 2.8-kilometer Ocean Swim. If you take part in this swim from Milford Beach to Takapuna Beach, you will want to make sure you have the experience and training to get through this water-based endurance test.
