Six successful years have made New Zealand's Classic Hits Winery Tour a permanent contender on its summer schedule of events. Locum tenens on assignment in the nation can brush up on their Kiwi music knowledge and attend one of the shows, running from February 3 to March 3 at locations including Auckland, Matakana, Gisborne, Waipara and Dunedin.
Headlining the performances in 2013 was Gin Wigmore, a rugged artist with a soulful, jarring and slightly unclean voice that captures the attention of crowds wherever she sings. Having wandered throughout Australia and New Zealand for most of her musical career, Wigmore has made a name for herself on the tropical islands. Fans have fervently bought tickets to the winery tour shows, selling out three of its 14 performances so far.
The shows are all within the relaxing surroundings of Australia and New Zealand's renowned wineries, allowing guests to sample libations from the countries' celebrated brands while listening to the sounds of their favorite Kiwi bands.
