Venture to a place like no other on the North Island

New Zealand's North Island is awe-inspiring no matter the season. Active volcanoes, island sanctuaries, too-long beaches and sprawling farmland are ever-present and ready to be explored. And it doesn't matter where your medical job in New Zealand is located, everywhere is accessible. Here are some tips to make the journey to the North Island as adventurous as possible:

If you're based on South Island, just hop on a ferry and take a ride to the Northern half of the country. When you arrive you'll find areas like New Plymouth. Situated on the west coast of the island, this town is loaded with unforgettable attractions, including Mt. Taranaki, a massive volcano in the heart of rainforest terrain, and Egmont National Park, which is brimming with trails and walkways that provide you with the best views of the island.

To find that postcard-perfect picture, head to the Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, a masterpiece of architecture that evokes images of a whale's skeleton and a crashing wave with its unique design and stark white color. The passage spans the beautiful Waiwhakaiho River, so with one snap of your camera as you look out across the bridge, you'll be able to capture that pinnacle shot.
