Explore the wild and wonderful Woodhill Forest outside Auckland

To find a place filled with adventurous New Zealanders, courageous tourists and wild landscapes, all you have to do is head to the Woodhill Forest outside Auckland. From tree climbing and cycling to four-wheel drive journeys, this 30,888-acre (12,500-hectare) crown forest can be your wildlife haven when you take a medical job in New Zealand.

When you've arrived in the heart of the forest, park managers will introduce you to numerous adventure courses, many of which feature challenging obstacles such as log running, galloping across balance beams in treetops or swinging from ropes.

If you're feeling extra adventurous, the forest park also invites you to check out night climbs, where you'll venture through the forest at night wearing a headlamp.

"It's quite a different feeling being out in the forest at this time," Euan Mckee, a Woodhill park manager, told the New Zealand Herald. "It's quiet with no mountain bikers. It's also not as scary, because you can't see too far down."

You'll also get to see more of the unique and diverse wildlife that Aotearoa is known for during these hours.
