New Zealand's top destination remains Auckland

When you’re in a new place, you don’t always know which areas to visit—since everyone has their own unique tastes—some go for the food, some for the weather, and others for the culture. Or, a steady mix of the three. But you're in luck if you're on locum assignment in Auckland because it took the cake for top New Zealand destinations.

Auckland took the top spot which was created based on the number of bookings made through Wotif.co.nz, according to TV3. This marks the second year in a row that the City of Sails has earned this honor.

It’s definitely easy to find something to like about this urban area on the North Island. You can take in breathtaking views of Auckland from 1,076-feet in the air when you visit the city’s Sky Tower, or you can come face-to-face with more than 1,000 animals at the Auckland Zoo.

Head to Waitemata Harbour for some boating adventures on the open seas or conquer your fear of heights while learning how to paraglide. No matter what your tastes are, you can certainly find something to do in Auckland.
