Watch world-class bicycle racing in South Australia

For the avid cyclist in you, the Santos Tour Down Under is coming to Australia, just in time for your locum assignment in the country.

When you take a locum job in Australia at the beginning of the new year, you'll be lucky enough to catch the first stop on the new year's world cycling calendar. This South Australia event will run from January 15-22 in the city of Adelaide.

While this heart-pounding event is still relatively new, having been created in 1999, it has already become the biggest cycling race in the southern hemisphere. As a result, all you locum tenens who can’t get enough of bicycle racing will want to make sure you are in Adelaide to see the top WorldTour professional cycling teams speed through the city’s streets.

You never know when you will spot the next big name in bicycle racing at the Tour Down Under. After all, Tour de France winners Carlos Sastre, Alberto Contador and Oscar Pereiro have all taken part in this event.

You may also get caught up in the exciting party atmosphere that accompanies the Tour Down Under in South Australia.
