British Columbia is perhaps the most famous out of all the provinces in Canada for holding such an abundance of jaw-dropping, snowy mountain scenery. You better believe that means an abundance of phenomenal ski resorts, too. If you'll be on locum tenens assignment in British Columbia this winter, head to one – or all – of these ski resorts. They're definitely the best of the best.
1) Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort
We can't have a list of best ski resorts in British Columbia and not mention Whistler Blackcomb. It is THE ski resort to go to in BC. You can't argue with Ski Magazine. They consistently rank Whistler Blackcomb as North America's #1 resort. Don't let its popularity deter you. While it can get crowded at times there's still plenty of prime acreage for everyone. There are over 200 marked runs here across a span of 8,171 acres.
2) Sun Peaks Resort
You might be wondering what other ski resorts are in British Columbia. To be sure there are plenty to write home about. And Sun Peaks Resort is one of them. You're blessed with 4,270 acres of terrain here (second largest amount of terrain in Canada after Whistler Blackcomb). 10% of which is novice, 58% is intermediate and 32% is expert. Rest assured there's a lot of variety for skiers and snowboarders at any level.
3) Big White Ski Resort
Located about an hour southeast of Kelowna, Big White Ski Resort is where it's at if you're looking for that light, dry, powdery snow. Who are we kidding? We dare say virtually every skier and snowboarder is looking for that exact kind of snow. Given this ski resort's pleasantly remote location in the Okanagan Valley you'll encounter shorter lift lines as well as a greater frequency of untouched slopes.
