Taking a locum opportunity in the Midwest? Here are 3 spectacular sights you may not know about.

The Midwest can get a bad rap what with its notorious winters and lack of ocean and mountain scenery. But wait. Before you click away we’d like to enlighten you on all the untold beauty you can find throughout this cross-section of America. Are you taking a locum opportunity in the Midwest? Get ready. From countryside to cityscape there’s a lot to do around these parts – even during the winter months.

Sleeping Bear Dunes – Michigan

The name alone screams Michigan wildness and adventure. During summer you’ll see massive crowds of people filling the sand dunes. And in winter you’ll get the whole place to yourself. Not all to yourself but it will definitely feel like that as you’re snowshoeing along with nothing but your companions and the sound of snow crushing beneath your feet. At 1pm every Saturday Sleeping Bear offers snowshoe hikes. These short treks depart from the visitor center in Empire.

Walker Art Center – Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Walker Art Center is a staple in Minnesota. It all started over 125 years ago when a man from Minneapolis added a room onto his house and began hanging up his most precious paintings. He welcomed all to come visit his “art gallery.” Today it’s much larger and it has since housed hundreds of exhibitions. We do recommend you head outside, too, to marvel at the architecture of the building itself.

Millennium Park – Chicago, Illinois

If you’ve been to Chicago before then Millennium Park is a place you’ve certainly heard about. It’s gigantic and it’s brimming with wondrous sculptures and buildings and activities. There’s Cloud Gate existing in silvery wonder and McCormick Tribune Ice Rink where you can get your fill of ice-skating. And then there’s Pritzker Pavilion where you can attend free concerts in the summer. Trust us, if you plan on taking a locum opportunity in the Midwest you’ll want to visit Millennium Park.
