Learn about local vineyards at the National Wine Centre

South Australia is home to some of the country's best wines, and locum tenens visiting Adelaide can learn all about the history and culture of the drink when they visit the National Wine Centre.

Located directly next to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, the National Wine Centre teaches visitors about the winemaking process from start to finish. Exhibits cover such diverse topics as the role of wine in history, problems frequently faced by winemakers, the ascendence of Australian vineyards and the relationship between wine and food.

After they have finished perusing the displays, visitors to the centre can take a seat in the Concourse Cafe. Here, they can look out over the botanical gardens as they sample local wines, dine on options from the seasonal a la carte menu or purchase a bottle to bring home as a souvenir.

For those interested in planning events, the National Wine Centre is home to several venues capable of hosting between 10 and 1,000 guests, making it the perfect place to stage any kind of meeting, function or celebration.
