Attend an artistic workshop while in the city of Bundaberg

When visiting Queensland, Australia, for a locum assignment, you won’t have to go far to find creativity since the city of Bundaberg houses its own art gallery.

Between 1996 and 2009, what is now the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery was known as the Bundaberg Art Centre. The gallery is more than 100 years old and underwent an extensive redesign to coincide with the name change.

Today, the gallery is committed to the preservation of the pieces it has on display, and to show them to the public. On a trip to the gallery, you’ll view the its extensive collection, which hosts more than 400 works across artistic mediums.

The paintings, sculptures and other works on display have all been purchased, donated or commissioned. Works in the Dr. Egmont Schmidt Collection go as far back as the 19th century, while pieces in The Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery Collection were created by artists with a strong association with the local area.

Each visit to the gallery is unique, because new and temporary exhibitions are constantly being offered. When you're Down Under, you should go to one of the gallery’s workshops; they'll help you hone your creative talents.
