Find the highest point on Australia's east coast to view Wineglass Bay

On the east coast of Tasmania lies a secluded beach called Wineglass Bay, voted by dozens of travel veterans as one of the world's best beaches. Surrounded by cascading mountain ranges, lush green forests and unique rock formations, the calm body of water rests around the spectacular Freycinet Peninsula, which is part of the eponymous national park. Red and pink granite formations and a series of jagged granite peaks, called "The Hazards," line up in a row, adding to the gorgeous scenery of the Land Down Under.

Wherever your medical jobs in Australia may be, a visit to this peninsula on the nation's eastern edge is worth every minute. You can stand at one of the handful of lookout points, where the pink granite peaks, tranquil waters and rolling hills stare back at you through your camera lens.

In addition to the stunning landscape views, the local flora and fauna will broaden your perspective on the wildlife of Australia. During your travels throughout the bay, you'll find white-bellied sea eagles, wallabies and even the Tasmanian devil.

After all of your solo explorations, you can meet some of the locals affiliated with the tourism efforts of the region. Visitor centers throughout the bay provide a gourmet banquet with authentic fare deriving straight from the waters of the sea: fresh crayfish, abalone, scallops and oysters.
