See vintage planes soar through the air at warbirds Over Wanaka

If you're a locum doctor with an interest in the history of aviation then you'll want to look up to the skies over New Zealand for Warbirds Over Wanaka.

This event will be held in Wanaka on New Zealand's South Island from April 6-8. When you attend this Easter event, you'll not only get a chance to see a wide variety of vintage aircraft, but also celebrate the Royal New Zealand Airforce's.

April 6 is Practice Day, which means there will be no airshow, but plenty of vintage plane displays to visit. Additionally, you will have a chance to check out fire engines, tractors and other land-based vehicles.

Over the next two days, you will want to make sure you are up bright and early to attend the airshows at 10 a.m., which promise to feature a variety of aircraft, including different types of planes and helicopters. Past events have included kittyhawks, vampires, mustangs, I-16 fighters and Mig-15s. When you are not watching experienced pilots' aerial acrobatics, you can grab a bite to eat or do some shopping at the event's food and merchandise stalls.
