Take a (writer's) walk in Wellington

While on locum tenens assignment in New Zealand, you can spend your down time brushing up on Kiwi culture by reading the nation's renowned literary works and learning about the authors, poets, playwrights and journalists that grew up in the Land of the Long White Cloud. On the Wellington Writers' Walk, you can combine your love of literature with a scenic stroll through the New Zealand city.

Set in one of the world's most stunning land-and-seascapes, the walk takes you along the city's waterfront, where you'll find sculptural quotations from Kiwi writers in unexpected places. Internationally renowned typographer Catherine Griffiths designed these concrete plaques to commemorate the lives of famous writers, such as playwright Bruce Mason, novelist Pat Lawlor and poet Eileen Duggan.

Each quotation, which includes words from the celebrated writers' works, highlights the city of Wellington and is showcased along the beautiful Wellington Harbour. You can enjoy this walk thanks to the New Zealand Society of Authors.
