Visit an Aboriginal treasure of Australia: Mutawintji National Park

There are countless Outback trails you can hike and adventures you can have when you take a medical job in Australia. And at Mutawintji National Park in New South Wales, you'll get to traverse a stunning desert region of the Land Down Under and meet a variety of Aboriginal people who still use the land as they have for thousands of years.

This nationally protected expanse of land has great walking and hiking trails, as well as numerous campsites for those who would like to spend a night surrounded by wilderness. Situated close by the Mutawintji Historic Site, the campground is also a fun place to brush up on your knowledge of the long-living community of indigenous Australians. At the location, you can find rock engravings and stencils that used pigments from natural elements.

All around you, you'll find endemic forests of river red gum trees and white cypress, as well as unique animals including the monitor lizards known as goannas and the endangered yellow-footed rock wallaby.
