Keep an eye out for jumping crocodiles when cruising down the Adelaide

Australian crocodiles can be found in the country’s Northern Territory. This means that when you're on locum assignment in Australia you'll have several opportunities to see these amazing creatures up close.

There's no need for concern, because there are safe ways to learn about these aquatic reptiles, such as crocodile cruises down the Adelaide River. On one of these boat tours, you may even see one of Australia’s famous jumping crocodiles.

While crocodiles are dangerous, the reptiles that swim around the cruises’ path are used to the boats passing by and are frequently fed by tour operators. In order to snatch pieces of meat dangled from above the river, these enormous creatures use their tails to thrust themselves out of the water.

Along the way, you'll learn about the two types of crocodiles that are found in Australia—estuarine, or salt-water crocs—and johnsons, fresh-water crocs.

Also, hopping aboard one of these tour boats provides you with a chance to see a wilder part of the Land Down Under, as well as a variety of birds, such as sea eagles, black kites, magpie geese and kingfishers.
